attempting to change the imei, mac and bssid. can shed some lights on this? tried to use blue merle but saw someone states there are some security problems? some other offer to alter the command under settings. need a thorough procedure on the id's change. Thank you very much!
Thank you.
So for MAC, does it randomize on wifi as well? do I need to manually randomize it every time connect to a public WLAN and wifi?
for BSSID, where can I see the BSSID is enabled by randomization? for example, GL-MT3000-*** would be changed every time connecting to a public internet? my ssid was changed once and how to get back to the option for randomization?
IMIE only relates to any Cellular modem and should not usually be changeable, some countries also have laws relating to changing/spoofing it so be careful.
Perhaps necessary to understand BSSID and SSID first.
When you manage the router connect to a public Wi-Fi through repeater, for privacy and security reasons, BSSID can be enabled to be random. The upstream router probably obtains this information for BSSID if repeater/connect it.
However, the SSID of your router will not be affected and will not change randomly. SSID only can be manually set and changed.
You cannot enable/disable your BSSID. A wireless access point has a network interface to communicate with devices, that interface has a MAC address. This MAC address is used as the BSSID. All you can do is to switch it to random.
