Greetings have the Mango (GL-MT300N-V2) router with Admin Panel
v4.3.18
After logging in via SSH, and then issuing a reboot command, we can no longer log in via SSH as it doesn't like the password we set via the Admin Panel. We are connected to the LAN port. We did a full reset of the router, same issue persists.
Full reset means without restoring backups, correct?
What error message do you get while trying to connect via SSH?
If you set a new password in the GUI - does it work then?
Full reset from the admin panel, no restoring backups or imaging new firmware.
Error message via SSH session is incorrect password attempt.
I reset the password via the Admin panel and via [192.168.8.1/cgi-bin/luci] under advanced tools.
Once i did that, still no success logging in via SSH. Same error message.
Thank you.
Do you login using root
? If you set some pretty easy password (like test1234) - does it work then?
Logging in as root, I will reset the password to something simple as you suggested. Also, tried logging in as: admin@192.168.8.1 in addition to root.
admin
won't work - root
is the only user you can use.
I reset the admin password, then attempted via ssh. Entered password, I get, Sorry, try again.
Hmm, I am not sure what might be wrong with your device. Maybe another reset is necessary or even Debrick via Uboot - GL.iNet Router Docs 4.
Did you install any plugins or modify scripts by your own?
No plugins, I did modify the sysctl config file. If this firmware had a custom rules tab within the firewall menu, I wouldn't have to log into via SSH. Not sure why it is omitted?
I guess I saw a similar problem on firmwares from 04/Sept in other models.
Try the previous version, installing it without keeping backups.
