I ordered a gl.inet & eiotclub physical eSIM and I tried to download and install a carrier profile (LycaMobile UK) using Puli xe300 router
Puli's modem name is: EP06ELAR04A22M4G and the firmware type is: 0323beta1
When I tried to download the profile, it always stopped at 90% giving a failed error:
Device start download profile
Download profile: 90%
Download profile fail: maybe this profile has been downloaded repeatedly by other devices or the current device, please check it or use other esim profile to test, if you confirm this is first time download, you can copy this logs to contact GL.iNet support get help.
After playing a little more with it, restarting and switching the esim with the previous normal SIM, I disabled the seed profile and also tried to see if the Android app from Eiot can be of any help.
It only got worse as manage esim tab dissappeared and no restart or anything else could bring that tab back
Irritated by this experience, I considered buying another Physical eSIM from a different brand, however I remembered that I still have a Mudi v2, so I decided to give a try with it
I installed the firmware V4.3.19_beta3 on Mudi V2 and I inserted the glinet esim into it. With this router I had a completely different experience as it was working as I it should.
After installing the LycaMobile profile on the eSIM (exactly the same profile that failed countless times on Puli) I took the esim and put it back into Puli.
Now Puli did see the esim and I could also see the 'manage esim' tab. Internet is working okay using the normal profile that was downloaded and installed using Mudi
Now the question is: how long it will take until Puli xe300 will have a firmware that will really work with GL.iNet eSIM?
I cannot use Android to set up the gl.inet eSIM and I don't intend to keep the Mudi just for this
