Plex server issue through travel router

Hi Everyone,

I'm having some issues with a Plex server when I use the LAN port on my GL-MT3000, it works without any problems when on WiFi as this connects directly to my GL-MT6000, so it seems the issue is between GL-MT6000 and GL-MT3000.

The setup is GL-MT6000 > GL-MT3000 (in extender mode, I'm unable to run an ethernet cable) WAN port on GL-MT3000 is switched to LAN, and the clients on GL-MT3000 do not show on the GL-MT6000 (not really a big issue as it's not used for wifi devices, I just created a hidden Wifi network to connect when required)

There's no double NAT as far as I can tell, each device is in the same range. My assumption was that I need to open PORTs however when I ping 32400 from my MAC it does so each time.

All devices on WiFi from GL-MT6000 and Cable via GL-MT3000 can connect to the Plex server

Any ideas?

In an ideal world, I'd have it bridged over WIFI so I can see all the devices on my GL-MT6000 but I think that might be a little beyond me, some of the guides I've found are 5+ years old etc.

EDIT - Many Thanks!

"the clients on GL-MT3000 do not show on the GL-MT6000"

The Plex server (if on the MT6000) will treat those devices as remote clients.

The Plex server is on the GL-MT3000 and connected to Ethernet, if my Mac mini (Plex server) can ping the open port it doesn't make sense the Plex server doesn't work outside of the LAN. (to me anyways)

If you're not on the same LAN, remote access needs to be enabled in Plex. I also have port forwarding rules enabled in my MT6000 to allow incoming requests.
I only use my MT3000 when traveling. If you're using it in repeater mode, it should be on the same LAN as your MT6000.

Thanks for the reply. The remote access is all enabled. It'll show the tick for 15 seconds and then come back as red. All ports are open; it's just an issue when I connect via ethernet from the MT3000 in repeater mode.

When connected directly to the MT6000s wifi there's no issue. IP addresses all start with the same 192.168 etc so there's no double NAT.
