Prevent reboot of the server

I have no idea why, but every time (for example firmware updates), the KVM reboots also the machine it is only suppose to control remotely.

Anyone an idea how I can prevent that? Shure, I love to wake up the machine via magic packets, but if I reboot the KVM, I really wanna only reboot the KVM!

Not sure during firmware update, but normal kvm reboot only reboots the kvm. There is a button top right on the kvm interface to just reboot the kvm.

Same effect there as I’d already mentioned: any reboot (manual or from update) restarts my Proxmox-machine.

That's not typical behavior. It may be worth investigating the Proxmox logs to see why a reboot happened, or to see if you can get the machine to reboot by disconnecting HDMI or USB ports. On my machines rebooting the KVM for any reason doesn't impact the connected server at all other than having it understandably lose the USB and HDMI connectivity.

I’d like to add that i have similar behavior but not necesarily on kvm reboots, i set up the wake on lan feature and now just going to the kvm web dashboard instantly sends the packet without me having to do anything. and if i try to shut down the pc, itll immediately re send the packet, so in order to prevent this for now what i have to do is immediately exit the dashboard as soon as i shutdown the pc. kind of annoying.

Do you have an ATX board installed? That sounds strange.
