Problem GL-AR750S router reset

I’ve been trying a few different configuration/settings and I’ve messed it. I want to reset to the factory defaults: 192.168.8.1 to be able to reconfigure…

As per: Repair or Reset - GL.iNet Docs I pressed for about 10 to 15 seconds, with the power on. Now I can’t connect to it.

Network cable plugged in the blue lan connector (most right/next to usb port). eth0 can’t get an IP:

opensuse leap 15.2:

wired/ipv4 dhcp/ipv6 disabled

> ip addr show
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
    inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000
    link/ether d4:3d:7e:29:97:4e brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

The lights at the front:

  • power: on
  • 2g: on
  • 5g: off

How can I access the GL-AR750S?

Thanks

When you hold the reset button, did you see the LED is flashing faster than faster?

When you release your finger, did you see the router reboot?

You can also try uboot failsafe mode if reset does not work for no reason

I think so, but I’m not sure. I didn’t pay attention. I’ll try again when I’m back.

How do I know when it reboots?

That will be my last resort.

Thanks

You will see all the LEDs goes dark then on. It is quite obvious.

I finally got it working. Thanks

Can you share what was the problem and trick?

I’d love to if I knew!

I must have done the “press reset button::10 seconds” at least another dozen times and then suddenly the reset to factory default worked.

Thanks
