Problem GL-MT300N with LTE Modem Huawei E3372

That’s only one part of the problem. But if you change the LAN settings to something other, the LTE modem (or stick) is not detected. As I wrote before: There are existing different versions of the Huawei E3372 stick. And some version will work and others not!

A bit late to the party but I figured it.
You need to use a 2A USB power supply and a good quality cable. The cables that come with mobile phones are often too high resistance (due to the thin conductors) to power the router and tha attached dongle.

Thanks for reporting back.

So which ID were you using?

I changed the GL Lan to something else from 192.168.8.10 (another IP than 192.168.8.1)

But

I still can’t access the E3372 hilink modem status from 192.168.8.1 after using tether from tethering tab.
But tethering works perfectly.

Why?

I’m using GL-AR150

Powered by LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.196.56128-9112198) / OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f

Please advise
Thanks in advance.

changed the lan ip address to different prefix than good ol’ 192.168. and it works!!

Yes you need to change to another subnet if Huawei is using 192.168.8.1.

yessss…

once i changed the Lan to 192.168.8.2 and it didn’t work. Changed it to another two IP options (173.x.x.x and 10.x.x.x). I think only of them is going to be compatible with either of your devices (dongle and GLInet Router). Then I choose one of the two IP address prefix.

Voila, it worked!!
