Puli AX - Question on SIM and eSIM

I have read a bunch of threads on the cellular router and using an existing phone SIM, etc. I order a Puli AX which I will be receiving this week. I have a spare Samsung S21 with TMO SIM that has unlimited data from our family plan which I want to use. What I have read is that I should clone the phones IMEI (document the original router IMEI) to the Puli and set the APN as fast.t-mobile.com and TTL to 64. I’m assuming this is the right process and I don’t have to change anything else.

I also purchased a Gl.iNet eSIM and want to get another carrier eSIM. I live up in Washington State and noticed TMO and ATT was supported for this model, but then I see others trying to get Verizon/Visible eSIMs to work. Anyone out in Washington prefer a carrier with good coverage?

Hi

Regarding T-Mobile physical SIM cards

Please note to check if your plan includes a hotspot data allowance.
If so, it typically works without changing the TTL.

If not, you can try modifying the TTL to 64 or 65, but be aware that some regions/carriers may use strict detection methods like DPI, which could render it unusable even after TTL modification.

Regarding eSIM coverage in your city, you might consider checking the signal coverage maps published by these carriers.

T-Mobile: 5G & 4G LTE Coverage Map: Check Your Cell Phone Service | T-Mobile
AT&T: AT&T Maps - Wireless Coverage Map for Voice and Data Coverage from AT&T
Verizon: Coverage Map: Verizon Home Internet & Cell Phone By Address | Verizon

Thanks for this. What I did was setup the router first and then worked on the SIM. I cloned the sim with my old phone, set the APN and the TTL/HL. Rebooted the router and everything works. Still shows my old S21 on T-Life app and everything on unlimited high speed data. No hotspot usage at least to date.

I’m going to try to do the same with Verizon in the future.
