Thank you. Question answered.
You can compare features here:
Some substantial differences in wifi, Lan ports, their VPN throughout etc.
Less easy to see is differences of openwrt versions, CPU speed, ram, release date, etc.
Thank you. Question answered.
It's generally the same, it will not be the same if:
-
the model is older and is not in sync with the latest gl sdk (the ui/gl firmware version we speak off).
-
the router has something special, like a sim card, or display screen like on the slate 7, these require extra options for it to function.
However the Brume2 release time, was at the exact time when they introduced vpn cascading, but almost all new models, + models who are in firmware sync have it.
Edit: also to avoid confusion, yes the configuration differs from routers, but the functions aren't, therefor it's not recommended to use backups from a different model.
Mt2500 has 8gb flash/1gb ram
Mt3000 has 256mb flash/512mb ram
They both have same CPU.
Mt3000 has wifi chip.
It appears mt3000 benefits from currently slightly more firmware options from gl-inet, eg op24, beta and snapshots.
The mt2500 appears built for users that want more flexibility for what apps they can run on the router.
