Questions regarding Beryl AX and 7

Greetings,

Interested currently in the Beryl AX and Beryl 7, and I had a few questions:

  • Do both support DFS? I found an old blog that said Beryl AX but not sure on Beryl 7.
  • How does performance look like when wireguard is setup as both a client and a server at the same time? The websites mention 300 mbps wireguard for Beryl AX and 1100 mbps wireguard for Beryl 7, but there’s a disclaimer that these numbers are only when the routers are in client only. How much performance can one expect when both Client and Server are setup?

Please see our responses below:

  • Yes, both Beryl AX and Beryl 7 support DFS.
  • We haven’t specifically tested the throughput when running both the client and server at the same time. In theory, the combined throughput should only be slightly lower than running the client alone, as the CPU needs to handle the additional server process.
