Raspberry Pi (RPI5) keyboard non-functional at boot

The RPI5 has a boot selection in the firmware now, where you hold space down at power on and then can select a device to boot from. The KVM is unable to activate this. secondly when attached a a real USB keyboard and holding space to get into the menu, the KVM is unable to register any key-presses, ie I can’t even hit “1” on the KVM to boot into SD card.

This is a bit a problem as we are using the KVM to rescue remote RPI5s.

Have you tried to disabled the Virtual media function in KVM?
Also please try to change the device identity.

I am having the same issue… have virtual media disabled and have tried different identities..

what I notice is that the keyboard icom on the KVM web page stays orange even though the HDMI connects… once thye raspberry pi Linux kernel boots then the KVM keyboard icon turns blue and I can use the Keyboard…. for some reason it appears that the KVM is not recognizing that it is connected to a device.. I use the on screen Keyboard in attempot it might work better but no good… icon stays orange and nothing is sent to the raspberry pi device… once the kernel boots i can type as normal….
will the new Comet Pro fix this issue? is there a fix for it on my Current KVM? I am on the latest firmwares for the KVM.
