Currently, the Wi-Fi radio has to match the repeater's channel. It's quite annoying that every time it disconnects, it would leave the channel immediately and switch to another channel. Could there be an option if possible to let the radio remain on the channel after disconnection? My devices keep disconnecting and crashing over this problem. If not, could it not jump around without telling the connected clients (Similar to DFS channel switching)?
Hi,
In Repeater mode, the Wi-Fi radio used for the upstream connection need to follow the upstream AP's channel, so its channel cannot be configured independently as a fixed channel.
When the upstream connection drops, the router may need to scan for the upstream network and reconnect. During this process, scanning can cause packet loss, and the local Wi-Fi on the affected band may be temporarily interrupted while the connection is re-established.
Regarding your second suggestion, switching channels without notifying connected clients would not necessarily prevent disconnections, as clients may remain on the previous channel and lose their connection to the router.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
