I recently registered on your Weblate instance at https://weblate.gl-inet.com/ and I'm interested in contributing a full translation of the interface into Irish (Gaeilge).
At the moment, Gaeilge (lang code ga) doesn't appear as one of the available languages on Weblate. I would like to request that it be added as an option so I can contribute directly through the platform.
I have experience with other open-source translation projects, including OpenWRT, Ethereum.org, and LineageOS, and I actively contribute to Irish language support in various software environments. I understand that the usual requirement is to have at least five contributors, but even if that's not met, I'm still happy to take on the work of translating the interface independently and maintaining it.
I’ve already explored the /www/i18n folder on my GL.iNet router via FTP and can confirm that local translation is possible by uploading files. However, I’d prefer if the translation could be integrated officially so that it benefits all Irish speakers using GL.iNet products.
Go raibh maith agaibh – thank you for your consideration. I’d be delighted to help promote Irish language support in your ecosystem.
Thank you very much for your attempts and contributions to language translation.
Regarding creating a new Irish (Gaeilge) instance in Weblate and applying Irish (Gaeilge) in the GL GUI, I will communicate and evaluate with relevant personnel.
That's great news! I just checked it out, I made 1 translation recommendation but it says 'Insufficient privileges to save translations' .There are quite a few irish translations already though
