Restore GL-MT6000 factory partition

Hello,

I’m using GL-MT6000.
I prepare to upgrade to Openwrt fully (include preloader bl2, openwrt uboot fip and openwrt squashfs-factory.bin firmware) but I want to know can I restore to factory bl2, uboot partition in the future if I want to come back GL.iNet firmware and uBoot?

Thanks alot.

Afaik you can't get totally back because the factory partition is customized per device.
But @bruce might be able to assist here.

I found someone said that need to backup /dev/mmcb1k0p4 (fip partition) and /dev/mmcblk0boot (preloader bl2 partition) and restore it when nessesary. Is that right?

I would assume so, but can't tell for sure, sorry.
Maybe bruce might know.

All in all it's a bad decision to flash plain OpenWrt with fip. Just use sysupgrade image instead.

I saw you have sent an email to support team to ask this question.
We are not recommended to flash the bootloader, uboot, etc. if you are required to use the vanilla OpenWRT, can only flash the OpenWRT firmware sysupgrade.bin.
