Router does not recover when SIM card is blocked temporarily

Hi,

I have a GL-X300B router and have the following problem: When my provider makes changes to the SIM card (e.g. temporarily block it due to using too much data) the router does not recover. In fact, it seems to crash quite bad and even take the WiFi and LAN network down with it. To recover it, I have to reset and reboot it which is not good because I'm not always on-site. Is there a fix to solve this?

Here is my router info:

Hostname GL-X300B
Model GL.iNet GL-X300B (NOR)
Architecture Qualcomm Atheros QCA9533 ver 2 rev 0
OpenWrt version OpenWrt 22.03.4 r20123-38ccc47687
Kernel Version 5.10.176

Unfortunately I have no logs available. Apparently they only go a day back and are removed beyond that? My System Log has 2 days of entries available, the other ones are empty.

Make the log record longer:

uci set system.@system[0].buffersize=204800
uci set system.@system[0].log_size=600
uci commit

Is it possible to get the syslog, since we have to check what actions take of the modem during this process.

Can you describe this phenomenon in detail?

Reproducing this situation is difficult because I have no means to simulate a blocked simcard as this is handled by our ISP. Our simcard was accidentally blocked twice and in both cases this occured.

When it cashes like this, the router is no longer accessible. The WiFi network cannot be connected to. First it keeps saying the password is wrong, later it just disappears/goes offline. The router interface is not accessible through an ethernet cable at that time either. It requires a reset (with the reset button), waiting until the router boots, approach the interface through an ethernet cable (still no working WiFi), go to the 4G connection menu, click automatic configuration and let the router detect the necessary settings. I think at some point I also had to manually restart the modem with the modem restart button in the webinterface. Once the 4G was detected properly, I would restart the router and everything including WiFi was ok again.

 We did not reproduce this situation, like the 4G SIM (a test card that has been run out of phone bills, to restore the Internet if charge again) connection is activity but the base-station cut off its network, the router and modem seems to no problem.
Please try to reproduce it and export the router syslog, more helpful to check

Thank you for trying to replicate the situation. Perhaps your ISP handles the card differently, or something else is going wrong in my router. I will try to reproduce it and recover the logs.
