Hello there,
I recently bought the beryl ax router and i have been loving it ever since, i use it at home as my main router and everywhere else i go. The problem was, i carry it to school since i am a university student and they have this wall ethernet sockets where you can either connect your router or computer directly using an ethernet cable. When i plug in my beryl ax via the wan port, it connects to the Internet, then after a very short while loses Internet connection, then after another short while on the gui under ethernet it says connecting, then it connects to the Internet again, and it keeps on repeating, that you can't even use the Internet. I was wondering what the problem might be cause this router works well everywhere else except in my school. The strange and funny part is also that other routers and computers i have tested work well with the school ethernet ports. I am not that network savy so all i did was try a reboot and turning ipv6 on and off. I would appreciate your help guys, cause i spend most of my time in school and would like to use my beryl ax as my source of Internet, and also know why this happens incase i encounter the same issue with another internet wall socket.
My firmware version: 4.5.16
hello
Can you send me the log?
thank you
Sorry for the late reply, I recieved a firmware update to 4.6.2, and i connected the router to the socket and have been waiting for it to fail for about 2 hours and it hasn't. Previously it would fail in less than 10 - 20 mins. Seems like the update fixed it. If possible i will update if it fails again. I will attach the logs either way. Thanks!

hello
If it happens again, please send me the log again
thank you
If this situation re-happens, please try to clone the MAC of your laptop/PC to the WAN(eth) of the GL router.
Ok i worked fine for a very long time then re-occurred just now. I am attaching the log so you guys can check if it's an internal error. But this specific log caught my eye, don't know if it will make sense to you guys. I also attached the whole downloaded log.

Cloning the MAC address seems to work though, so let me see if the same problem will come up again.
Hello there, the problem is back again, the mac address solution only worked for a while, i even tried the manual mac to generate a random mac address, but doesn't work!

Hi,
I checked the syslog you provided, there are mutil times to show 'the WAN interface down'.
Please assist us to check the issue:
- Upgrade the latest firmware. If already in the latest firmware, please reset the firmware of the router, and test a while.
- Change the other one network cable, and test a while.
- Switch the LAN (eth1) to work as WAN in SSH (SSH to the Router - GL.iNet Router Docs 3), and test a while:
uci add_list network.@device[0].ports='eth0'
uci del_list network.@device[0].ports='eth1'
uci set network.wan.device='eth1'
uci commit
/etc/init.d/network reload
Hello there thanks for your help, I'll try to SSH into the router, but to some extent i suspect that the problem is on there side cause my router works perfectly everywhere else and also sometimes works well with that school socket for very long before it starts failing! or even probably the power sockets in school might be causing some issues, like you said earlier. I'll SSH into the router and also try changing the power sockets and update on the results.
Okay, seems probably this issue is the network cable sockets in school, aging or poor contact.
