Hey there.
I am using a ultra wide for all my work. Using ultra wide res would be most effective for me too then while using the kvm.
I tried some resolutions form the github linked on this page.
But using one with my res (3440x1440) is applied but the screen capture failed.
Don't need to care about this custom name; it is automatically generated for the first time. You can actually check the resolution configuration of the controlled computer to see if there is now a 3440*1440 resolution option.
It has the resolution in the settings.
I can connect via parsec and see it on the monitor but no video stream on the KVM while EDID is set. And it also does not update the resolution on the bottom left corner for the video stream.
I recorded the screen to share the entire setup process. There is no special operation. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the refresh rate check at the end. Please select a refresh rate of 30Hz.
That one did it for me. Maybe the second reset idk.
Today i just resetted the kvm again. At first no signal with the default. I applied the one by minmie and tadaaaaaa signal. Seems to work thank you. And I just tired robotlous too. Maybe something was bricked the last two are working. Thanks for sticking with me
I've tried all of the above and I get some really weird pixelization/tearing with the 3440x1440@30Hz (29.94Hz) EDIDs. They all behave roughly the same. Any significant image change and I get heavy pixelization over the change for 1-1.5s and then it clears.
Running in 60Hz seems fine. I've tried the 2560x1440x60Hz that come pre-loaded, those don't work at all, only get 1920x1080 for anything that tries to go at 60 Hz.
Twice in messing around with trying to manually set the resolution/refresh through the "list modes" workaround the pixelization has gone away and it works perfectly at 3440x1440@30Hz, but a restart of the controlled computer or a close/reconnect to the Comet puts me back to pixel land.
