I am in need of serious help! I purchased ONE Beryl MT3000 which I plan to use as a VPN router to work abroad in Costa Rica because I am needing a USA IP address to be able to work on my company laptop.
I already configured the OpenVPN client through expressVPN using the file, and the username/password given by expressVPN. I did NOT set up OpenVPN server or WireGuard Client or Server.
Currently the Beryl is connected to my home WiFi. I have tested the Beryl IP address on my work laptop and cellphone & it shows as Atlanta which is correct through expressVPN, the only difference is the company name for the ip address on my phone is different than what showed on my computer.
Is this all I needed to do to be able to work on my company laptop abroad and reflect a USA IP address? If not, do you mind to tell me what else I should or need to do?
Sorry, I'm not in charge of technical support. I will forward your questions to our support team. Next time, the best way to get a technical support is sending your email to support@gl-inet.com.
The IP of the laptop and phone which connected to the Beryl router are different? both Atlanta (ExpressVPN) but not same IP? or what is not the same company address?
Post the screenshot to let us know what you ask about.
Just select and enable the USA profile of the ExpressVPN in the router.
Hi Bruce!
Thanks for replying, so what is happening is when I connect my cellphone or my work computer & then test the ip address on different websites - on dnsleak website it shows the IP address as Atlanta (which is correct) but then when I go to IPleak website to test there it shows my IP address as in the United Kingdom.
This has happened at separate times, on two different devices.
I am not sure how to fix that because I did configure it correctly to Atlanta so I am not sure why one website would be showing the UK and not the USA which is what I am needing.
