I have a Brume 2 and a Beryl AX to use as a home VPN server and travel router VPN client. Most guides to setup the Brume 2 at the home location assume one is able to access the user interface of the home modem/router and then port forward to a specific port on the Brume 2.
Is it possible to setup the Brume 2 as a VPN server without access to the home modem/router user interface?
Here are the facts:
There is no IP on the home modem/router, in any 192.xxx format.
The modem/router combo takes a coaxial cable and has a bunch of standard LAN ports.
The modem/router IP is static. Always.
I cannot change the ISP or modem/router.
If I connect the Brume 2 to the modem/router, the IP address of the Brume 2 on the Brume dashboard is 10.0.0.247 not a 192.xx etc.
How can I setup the Brume as a VPN server in this case so the Beryl can connect to it? The end goal is to have any device connected to the Beryl have its IP show up as the Brume's IP.
Without access to the modern/router? Have you asked the service provider for access to it?
Not sure this will help, but I’ve seen something similar on an Xfinity/Comcast business class cable modem where I worked which had multiple network ports on it. I was able to connect to the cable modem GUI via the web browser using the internal gateway IP address 10.0.0.1 with the default username/password for their Xfinity/Comcast business class cable modems. From there I was able to DHCP reserve the IP for the internal device, and set the port forwarding options to the device.
