Shadowsocks needs numerical IP address?

Hi I’m trying to connect to the shadowsocks server provided by my VPN provider. My GL-MT300A router will only allow numbers to be inputted instead of the actual address (RU1.shadowsocks.celo.net) which is provided by my VPN provider that I’m supposed to use. It works on my phone but the app I use allows me to input characters other than numbers. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks for the help!

firmware version: 2.264

not sure, but it is better to use real IP addresses.

Yes, it needs ip address, not url.
