SiFlower still alive?

Not specific to GL, but very relevant:

I hear gossip that SiFlower has ended operations.

I find this claim to be dubious and I have searched everywhere to prove (or disprove) - but found nothing.

Maybe someone here can comment …

IDK about their business operations but I stumbled on a thread just the other day you might like regarding 'pure'/'vanilla' OpenWrt progress. Enjoy:

Where did the news come from?

We may release a new Opal successor in the future.

It isn’t news, it’s gossip - because I haven’t found corroborating proof.

I am trying to determine if it is true so my company can plan accordingly.

I just haven't heard of it.

Do you have any plans?

Plan A - hope.

Plan B - see Plan A

We need reliable, ongoing supply of a device with technical characteristics and price offered by SF19A28x.

I agree, and hope they are alive and operating, advancing competition in the WiFi SoC market!

I spoke with SiFlower. Told the rep I hear rumors about their solvency, and asked directly if they are solvent and actively producing chips. The answer I was given:

“This is a rumor, the company's funds were indeed tight in the past period, but it has been alleviated now.”

So … long live Opal!
