SimPoYo 4G how to download profile

Hello,

I have a SimPoYo 4G device, bought some data for Japan and the connection to the internet works. I also tried to remove the sim card from the SimPoYo 4g device and put it directly into my Android phone and it worked! Now, since my smartphone supports esim, is there a way to “download“ the esim profile and install it as esim?

What I want to achieve:

  • SimPoYo 4G with its own esim physical sim card installed that I can use as 4g dongle
  • Use the same esim profile also on my phone

In this way I pay only one plan, and share it between the dongle and my phone. Is that even possible? If not possible to share, can I just install the SimPoYo esim profile to my phone without using the sim card slot?

AFAIK. this is not possible to share the profile. As a normal SIM and eSIM can only be activated in one device at a time.

You have to remove the eSIM profile from one device, with a working internet connection, to be able to download it on another device with a working internet connection.

Got it, I also feel it is not possible. But if I “unbind“ the esim profile from the SimPoYo 4g physical sim and install that esim profile in my phone, would that work? That would also be fine as I am using my phone more often than the usb dongle

Yes if you install the eSIM on your phone it should work, as long as it supports the network used by the eSIM provider.

If you’re referring to the Seed esim profile that comes with the SimPoYo 4G physical eSIM, we do not support transferring it for use on other devices.

However, if it’s a esim profile from another eSIM provider, you may contact them to check whether they can provide support for this.

Ok, no big deal, I will keep using the sim in the sim slot if the phone for now
