I just received mine, and I love this nice little slate. I am wondering if you are planning to update the software for the screen. It's a bit annoying for me since I work in a coworking space, and anyone can access it while I'm away. I hope you are considering an update for that, as the current screen setup is not suitable for entering a PIN code. Perhaps adding four arrows on the screen to allow for a directional sequence as a PIN code would be enough ?!
Additionally, I find it unfortunate that the screen turns off after a few seconds, which diminishes some of the appeal of having a screen. It would be great to have an option to keep the screen on. and also if its possible to add the temperature of the slate would be very nice
Hi, sometimes when I travel to Asia it's very hot. I just want to check if the slate doesn't get too warm. Maybe we can display the overall temperature next to the CPU, FLASH, and MEMORY screen ?!
@bruce I also wonder about the security of being able to scan a QR code or press to see the SSID password on the screen. How about the ability to turn the screen or QR or password off like on the Mudi? Then people have the option to display what they feel is "safe" based on their circumstances;
I didn’t travel or extensively test my new Slate 7 yet. My Beryl AX flashes the LED light when it loses the internet connection, that’s when I know that I need to login to the hotel portal again.
There’s this particular hotel that I stayed in a few times and they kick out all guest connections at 4:00 AM on the dot. The flashing LED light was a good reminder to login again.
I hope that there’s some telltale sign implemented on the Slate 7 for something like that (or to be please considered in future firmware releases if not).
