I just purchased and received two of the GL.Inet Slate 7 routers. I am trying to login to “Private Internet Access” (PIA). One went smoothly, but the other is giving me a “get third part provider token fail [20001211]” error no matter what I try.. I have wiped it several times and tried again, but I get the same error over and over. Funny thing, the one that does not work I tried to setup first. Moved to the second one, followed the same very simple steps, and it worked just fine and very fast. With the first one, I have tried everything I can think of, but nothing works. I also get a lot of random timeouts toasters as well with the first one that has this issue. Any suggestions? I an on the latest production firmware. Thank you in advance.
Hi
Are both devices connected to the same network and using the same PIA VPN account?
If not, please try connecting to the same network.
We also recommend:
- Check if 2FA/OTP is disabled on your PIA account, as we do not currently support this.
- Go to Admin Panel > Network > DNS, switch to encrypted DNS, and try a few different providers to rule out DNS-related issues.
Switching the one router to use encrypted DNS, specifically Cloudflares, worked for me, though none of the others worked. All is well now and that is what matters. Thank you for posting a response. I really do appreciate it.
