Shangri-La hotel Fiji has a public open wifi with a captive portal. Nothing needed just connect and close captive portal window, Cannot get the Slate 7 to connect... Reset on both 4.7.1 and 4.7.3 and no go.
Connecting ... forever when it's not.
Connection failed, will retry later…
While attempting to reconnect, your router will periodically scan for Wi-Fi networks, and your guest Wi-Fi network will be temporarily unavailable during this scan
1.PM'd the syslog.
2. Open with no key, captive portal requires no response but window must be closed.
3. Have tried multiple clones MAC addresses for working devices on the network.
Given experience with other GLiNet devices and networks, I thought this one would be easy.
Nope. Reset device, version 4.7.1,2 and 3 tried.
We checked the issue syslog, found the repeater association failed, and error reason is 10, this means the association action has timed out. This probably the primary WiFi (hotel WiFi) has not responded.
In the association information of syslog, found the primary WiFi mode is 11n, please SSH to the router, and execute the commands:
uci set wireless.wifi0.hwmode='11ng'
uci commit wireless
ubus call network reload
Then try to connect the primary WiFi (hotel WiFi) again.
Hi, I am now 1000 km from the hotel and the hot spot. Lets close this case as I cannot provide access to the wifi network at this time. Thanks for your responses so far.
