Slate 7 Vpn speed

Just curious, what's the wireguard and openvpn speed of Slate 7? There's no info in the data sheet...

The specs are very conservative. I am able to get wireguard speeds of ~1400Mbps dl and 860 Mbps ul. OpenVPN caps out around 118Mbps with HW acceleration enabled

How did you manage these speeds? How did you test?

I was only able to achieve 500Mbps with the cpu at roughly 3.5/4.

Slate 7 WireGuard speeds as advertised

I am very happy (so far) with the Slate 7 coming from a Firewalla Purple as a travel router. After a few days of testing, I can confirm that WireGuard speeds are in fact around 500Mbps [image] Right now I have the router hard-wired on WAN to my guest network running on pfSense. The VPN tunnel is all local (no WiFi or ISP involved). Obviously in real-world applications, I will likely see slower speeds due to hotel WiFi and bandwidth limits, but it's good to know the hardware is capable of it! …

It was either a glitch or some mistake because I’ve not been able to repeat those results, even on hardwired. You can see my updated results here: Report: VPN Speeds on Flint 3 and Slate 7. Also keep in mind that the firmware I originally tested on was a 32bit pre-release firmware.
