Slow pages loading, time-outs, no pics after 4.8.2 update GL-MT6000

Strange, I’m noticing some hitching as well now, it’s 10x less annoying after factory reset, but sometimes I still need to refresh a page to have it fully load. I agree it’s not truly fixed.

So, from yesterday (after I disabled network accceleration) everything is ok.

I dont know if this is solution for everyone but it wouldnt hurt to try.

I thought, as a GL.iNet mod posted, that AdGuard Home was the culprit, however it seems after disabling and giving it a few hours, the same things are happening (pictures not loading, timeouts, etc). What a release…

Also tried disabling mutlipath TCP like a user sugested and that certainly made things better (specially regarding increased latency), but the problem is still there

I’ve the same issue. I did downgrade to 4.7.7

I tried this today and so far everything seemed to be working fine. Thank you!

Apart from network acceleration, which is a crucial part of the router for a lot of people

I also disabled Network Acceleration and enabled back “Auto” in DNS. It seems that issue has disappeared.

No help from glinet admins?

They’re stuck saying that it’s just Adguard Home or DoT/DoH, which people have already ruled out. A lot of people are having problems with DNS, a lot of whom do not use Adguard Home.

Is ANYONE having this issue with Hardware Acel disabled? Everyone who uses SQM wouldn’t see this issue if I am understanding the culprit

I disabled Hardware Acceleration 7h ago, returned DNS settings to AUTO. Worked all day and haven’t experienced a single hiccup with pages and pictures. So I would say workaround works for me.

We can't succeed if those responsible for helping fail to act. Releasing a final version with these critical bugs is unacceptable.

Hello,

We tried to test with MT6000 firmware v4.8.2 (including v4.8.2-op24).
MT6000 has been tested and connected for two days, and we did not find abnormalities, including DNS works fine, ping works fine, all applications/websites access without issue.

I also tested the firmware upgrade from v4.7.7 to v4.8.2 (keep settings) to check, and also fine.

May I know somebody please send me a backup of your router, and I will observe what is abnormal after importing it locally.

Just want to confirm the same thing: we’re also experiencing slow loading and time-outs since update to 4.8.2, will try to downgrade.

Hello,

Please export a backup first and share it with me in PM, and please let me know your Admin Panel password in PM, then downgrade it.

I can confirm the problem goes away after switching from Hardware to Software Acceleration. The problem was really bad after 4.7.7 → 4.8.2 upgrade when I kept settings. After performing factory reset the problem was much, much less noticeable, but it was still there. Disabling Hardware Acceleration fixed it fully.

Just chiming in that I am experiencing exactly the same issue on 4.8.2 while 4.7.7 is rock solid.

Special settings:

  • DNS over TLS via Cloudflare
  • VLAN tag for WAN network (required by the ISP)
  • IPv6 via prefix delegation (“native” in the UI)

One other difference that I noticed is that on 4.7.7 remote sites (like IPv6 testing tools) would see the IP of my device e.g. 2a02:26f0:fe00::5c7a:6538, but on 4.8.2 they would see the IP of my router e.g. 2a02:26f0:fe00:: (not my actual IP). Disabling IPv6 does not fix the issue.

I am currently running 4.7.7. Will report when I have the chance to try 4.8.2 again.

Here’s a post from another Staff member in another thread about the a similar browsing issue when accessing the internet with AdGuard enabled.

Even when I disabled AdGuard on my Flint 2, I still experienced browsing issues. Only until I disabled Hardware acceleration on my Flint 2 as advised above has the problem seemed to go away.

I can confirm exactly the same behaviour
