SSH via ethernet port?

Hi, I wanted to ssh into my GL-iNet AC1200 OPAL router via ethernet. Currently, I have it connected to the WAN port on the router (tried both LAN ports too). This is for scripting purposes so it would be extremely useful if I could use the ethernet ssh. Any ideas on what I can do? The error I get is:

ssh [email protected]
ssh: connect to host 192.168.8.1 port 22: Network is unreachable

You can’t connect by default by the WAN port (you need to customise the firewall rules before / enable SSH in the GUI)

Via LAN should work out of the box. Which firmware do you use?

Using firmware 3.2, can’t ssh while connected to ethernet port.

cannot ssh Using Lan* port

If you are connected by using the LAN port: Is 192.168.8.1 the IP of the router?
