Streaming app freezes on Flint 2

App freezes on TV using Flint 2

Hey I am trying to troubleshoot what would be causing an app to freeze and crash ever since I installed Flint 2.

So far every app works fine on my Samsung TV, there is just one I app use, a sporting app named Kayo. That works for say 10 minutes then just freezes and stops working giving me a media playback error.
This app worked fine before on my old router, so most likely something with the Flint 2 is causing issues with it.

Some of things ive tried so far, rebooting router, uninstalling app and reinstalling, turn off adblock guard. Is there any logs or some other section I can check to assist with troubleshooting?

Any help would be great.

Hi,

  1. TV APP Kayo settings without changes, try to replace the router back to the old one, and observe.

  2. If no issue, replace back to Flint2, restore to factory settings, and do not enable other functions, and observe.

  3. If the APP freezes, try exporting the Flint2 syslog now, and PM to me, please note the freeze time point.

  4. On Flint2, try to lower MTU for WAN.

  5. On Flint2, try to manually switch DNS to Google or Cloudflare.

  6. On Flint2, try to switch to Software Acceleration.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for those ideas to try.

I tested a bunch of different things,
Tried lowering the mtu, did not fix.
Disabled adguard, did not fix.
Set my dns to google's dns, did not fix.
Tried 2.4ghz wifi, still not fixed.
So assumed it wasnt a dns issue, possbily think memory leak in the app after reading online?

Turned on network acceleration- hardware acceleration and it seems to be running now for 40 minutes with no freezing and no issues, which it never has worked this long before.

Would you know why hardware acceleration would fix the issue? Interesting enough only this app needed it.
Also, if hardware acceleration is disabled on Flint 2, does that set an auto client limit on the clients download speed? Thinking maybe it was throttling it.

Oh damn spoke too soon.
Still having the same issue.

How about if switch the network acceleration to Software option?

Please share me the issue syslog with me in PM.

Hey Bruce,

Looks like its an issue with Adguard stopping the stream when Adguard is enabled.

I've set dns to google's dns,but as soon as I have enabled adguard the issue reappears. I've tried whitelisting different domains that the app seems to be using but it still is having issues.
