"Success" when connecting Beryl connects to public library wifi but no IP

Recently it has happened 2 times that I use the Beryl to connect to wifi at a hotel as well as a public library and after getting the “success” popup no IP shows under the “Internet” tab. Even after several seconds. Suggestions?

Have you upgraded to 3.215?

Sometimes the router does needs time to get IP.

If it does not, can you get the system log?

Yes, updated to 3.215

Here are the logs.

The log shows that connection to the WiFi is failed. Maybe the WiFi network just don’t allow routers to connect.

How would the AP know it is a router connecting? Also, is there any way to get the exact error that happened during the connection?

I’m seeing the same logs - trying to connect to hotel wifi which is open (no security) but no captive portal either.

Phone, Linux laptop just connect without issues (no need to register device either).

The Beryl (3.215 then factory reset) says “success” and returns to the main screen but then nothing, no IP, no connection.

Any idea of a workaround?

UPDATE: I’ve just tried the beta firmware for the Beryl and it seems to have fixed the problem

This seems a very good news!

It worked well but after a few days, the Beryl suddenly became unresponsive, no wifi and no access over eithernet. I did a full factory reset (back to the clean beta firmware) and set it up again, and it was fine again for the next few days. It worked through to the end of my trip.
