I wanted a power button for the machine behind my Comet PoE and already had a SwitchBot Bot, so I put one into the Comet's web UI: GitHub - mattsm/comet-switchbot: A SwitchBot Bot power button in the GL.iNet Comet (GLKVM) web UI, driven over Bluetooth from a Linux host or Proxmox container · GitHub
GL's UI doesn't show kvmd GPIO buttons (see UI modifications via boot.yaml/override.yaml not seen on screen), so instead of using the classic UI on port 8888 this adds a small button to GL's own page. It runs on stock firmware, doesn't modify GL's files, and a boot script re-applies it on every boot.
The Comet PoE has no Bluetooth radio, so the Bot is driven by a small service on any Linux machine with Bluetooth near the Bot (I run it in a Proxmox container). The Comet's nginx forwards the button's requests to it, only for a logged-in KVM session.
- Press, plus Hold with an adjustable hold time for forcing a hung machine off
- Scan for the Bot and pick it from the Comet UI
- Tested on a Comet PoE (GL-RM1PE) with firmware 1.10.1
