On my AX3000 5G router, I have Wireguard client running and in VPN policies I have set guest WiFi to use Wireguard for traffic.
I want some of devices (with WiFi, like mobile phones ) to connect to Tailscale on router on a different VLAN, lets say guest WiFi on 2.4Gbps where guest WiFi on 5Gbps uses Wireguard VPN ? Ultimately Tailscale node on the router will use a remote Tailscale exit node.
Is it doable?
Any reason why “exit node” selection bug from the drop-down menu of Tailscale GUI isn’t fixed? I know GL has its Astro service but Tailscale is only feature other routers do not offer currently and may offer in future as people have started using it.
At the moment, due to limitations in how Tailscale is integrated, it cannot be used as part of the policy VPN.
Therefore, the setup you described is currently not feasible.
Regarding this issue, could you provide more details about what you are seeing?
In our testing with X3000 v4.8.3, the router can correctly retrieve and display other nodes that are advertised as Exit Nodes in the Tailscale network, and the selection works as expected.
Please note that you need to click the refresh button on the left first, and then open the dropdown menu to see the latest list of Exit Nodes.
