The GL.iNet MT3000 router fails to connect after importing an OpenVPN configuration, causing loss of Internet access and inability to enter the admin panel.

Hello, I’m a GL.iNet MT3000 router user and I’m currently facing an urgent issue that needs assistance.

When setting up the VPN, I imported an OpenVPN configuration file, but the router dashboard has been stuck on “Connecting” and cannot establish the VPN connection.

After that, my computer shows “No Internet access” at the bottom right corner, and once I closed the admin panel (192.168.8.1), I could no longer access it again.

Additionally, after this problem occurred, I tried connecting my computer to another working Wi-Fi network. Although it shows “Connected,” there is actually no Internet access—web pages won’t load and apps can’t connect. I’m not sure if this issue is related to the router problem.

Steps I’ve tried:

  1. Restarted both the router and the computer.

  2. Performed a factory reset (held the Reset button for 10 seconds).

Unfortunately, the problem still remains.

Current router LED status: steady white light.

Could you please advise how I can access the admin panel again or restore normal connection to the GL.iNet network?

Hi

The MT3000 LED staying solid white indicates it is functioning normally.

Please refer to the following guide to check if it helps resolve the issue:

If the issue persists, try performing a factory reset a few more times.
Note: During the reset process, the LED will change its flashing speed several times.
Make sure to release the reset button after the second change — when the LED transitions from slow flash → fast flash → faster flash (release).

If that still doesn't help, please try rewriting the firmware using uboot.
