Hi,
I have a a matter device (door sensor) in a remote location that isn't within reach of a matter/thread network, nor a wifi network. However, I am able to connect to it via PowerLine (LAN over power cable) and it works quite well and stable.
Connected to the PowerLine is a WiFi access point, a LAN outlet is available. That way, the remote location has (W-) LAN.
In the main location I have the (W-) LAN router and, connected to it, a matter bridge (Bosch Smart Home Controller II) which is also thread-compatible.
Usually, I would just connect the door sensor (also Bosch) to the Controller via matter/thread. Since the sensor is out of reach, I am now getting to the actual question:
Can I use 2 GL-S20 to bridge/extend the thread network over (W-) LAN?
I would install 1 GL-S20 in the main location and with it create a thread network to which I'd commission/add the Bosch controller via auth code. Also, the GL-S20 would join my (W-) LAN.
In the remote location, I would have the other GL-S20 join the (W-) LAN and now: Is the thread network then available for it to join as well? And could I then join the door sensor directly with the controller (since that is already in the network) or would it have to join the thread network first?
But before getting into details, just having an answer as to whether the same thread network can be established over 2 GL-S20 connected to the same LAN would be great!
