Time to dig inside my GL-X3000 for the IMEI?

With hindsight being 2020, I'm one of those folks who went ahead and flashed a new IMEI onto the radio in this Spitz router without first knowing that one would need to document the original IMEI. :person_facepalming: It's not printed on the device, it's not printed on the box, it's not printed anywhere. Whoops.

So here I am, really needing that IMEI. It has been suggested that it's probably printed on the radio circuit board inside of the device. If spelunking into it is the only way I'm going to get out of this situation, does anybody have a general guideline about disassembly, an exploded view, or any other things to know as I start turning screws? Much appreciated.

Reset the modem using the AT command AT+QPRTPARA=3

Just make sure you don't do this often because it will wear out the modem flash space.
Should work, but I did not test it.

I've sent it that command at least twice. It says okay, but nothing changes. Odd.

Confirmed; nothing happens. IMEI remains unchanged

@j0rn just reboot. Gui shows imei change only after reboot

I sent my SN to Support, and they got back to me with it. :+1:

Please don't mark this at a solution without providing the feedback that support provided to actually solve this one. I would be curious about the potential fix for this.

I opened a ticket asking for my IMEI and supplied my SN. They replied with my EMEI. It solved my issue, and it was the only offered solution that actually worked. Is there some more data you are seeking here?

No, just that they were able to provide it and how, and you answered that. Thank you.

For anyone else trying to do this, the support person asked that I include the device MAC address rather than the serial number.
