I have several GL-X3000 routers. I've noticed that the data volumes for transmit and receive data are reversed. That is, the line that says upload shows the download data volume - as in received from Cell radio to the router - while the download shows the uploaded data volume - as in sent from the LAN interface to the Cell radio. Running 0412release3
As shown on web Interface.
Download 1.11 GB
Upload 62.14 GB
Screenshot showing client totals which basically show that the download - video streaming - is much bigger than upload.
Not really resolved in 0701beta4. They've made an attempt at fixing it by aggregating transmit and receive. Problem is that the total volume shows is about double the total of transmit + receive. Like they are counting the data on two interfaces like bridge and the radio. Also eliminated the ability to reset the counter except by resetting the system.
I just checked and I’m not running the 4.7.1 beta release. I’m running a stable release (4.0-413release1) but it was one that was posted only for a short time and then was replaced with a different release(4.0-0413release2). Couldn’t tell you what the differences are because I never updated to the latest one.
I did try the 4.7.1 beta once but found that it was pretty buggy in a few areas including tracking traffic data.
I gave up on feeling the need to always try the newest releases. I just want the router to work without having it be buggy. I’ll try the 4.0-0413release2 and see if I can spot any differences. I still have the first release downloaded and can always revert if needed.
EDIT: Just tried the 4.0-4013release2. Much slower internet speeds even when connected to the same tower and bands. Not sure what's going on with that. Even turned off the router and rebooted a couple of times. I'll test a little more but I switched back to previous release and speeds were back to normal. This is exactly why I don't update to latest versions anymore.
The most current beta which I upgraded to does not. See screenshots. I'll downgrade to the most current release version and see how that works. Seems like they went the wrong direction in the beta.
Downgraded to 0413release2. That does show split transmit and receive. It does allow resetting of the values. The Download - cell to router and Upload - router to cell values are reversed. Also, the displayed values are roughly double what actually is transmitted and received. For example, I ran speed test a couple of times from a wireless connected laptop. Client stats show 511 meg received, 16 meg transmitted. Internet stats show 1.2 GB Upload - (actually downloaded), and 34 meg Download - (actually Uploaded).
Small update to my prior post. Following the FW downgrade from the beta version, I upgraded to module to RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G. The Upload vs. Download values are no longer reversed. Seems may have been the module. The total values are still double actual, though.
