Just finished migrating my "sail anywhere" box from Peplink to GL-XE3000 and Starlink Gen2 to Mini and love how it turns out.
- Everything fits into 16x13 inch hard case, which is small enough to be a "personal item" on most airlines.
- I can power everything from USB-C, including power banks (need USBC -> 12V barrel jacks cables)
- Using Starlink -> GL-XE3000 -> Laptop over wifi is fast enough, so I don't need to carry long Ethernet cable
- Built-in battery in Puli means fewer cables (with Peplink I had to carry a mini-UPS battery from TalentCell and Y-cable for pass-through charging, now I don't need to think about it)
Now waiting for a new Google Fi data only sim (old one didn't work in GL-XE3000, but people say new cards should be fine) and eSIM. Google Fi should give 100G of data in many countries, Starlink is 50G for backup in remote places, and eSIM for longer stays in one place.
