Troubleshooting WDS with two Flint 2s and duplicate SSIDs ?

Good morning all -

I have recently purchased two Flint 2s to use for my home network - both are updated, running 4.9.1. I have configured the main one, SSID is broadcasted, everything works fine.

When I took the second one out the box, I powered it up, updated it, and then went to use WDS mode, connecting to the SSID of the primary mentioned above, then the webpage reset.

Now, both SSIDs are being broadcasted. When I connect to the main one, my portal shows my current device, whereas if I connect to the secondary, the device in use shown on the portal is actually the router itself.

The ultimate intent is to extend my network wirelessly. How can I do that seamlessly, without two SSIDs ?

Hi,

WDS mode will not automatically synchronize the SSID of the secondary Flint 2 with the main router.
Please note that WDS only establishes the wireless bridge between the two routers and does not automatically synchronize the Wi-Fi SSID.

If you would like both routers to appear as the same Wi-Fi network, please manually set the same SSID, password, and encryption mode on the second Flint 2 as on the main Flint 2.

After switching to WDS mode, the second Flint 2 may receive a new IP address from the main router, which can be used to access its Admin Panel and adjust the Wi-Fi settings.
