TTL change for USB tethering? Mudi V2

Hi I have a pretty specific question when it comes to my Mudi V2 (which I just got this week and love it so far)

I want to keep the sim card in my phone so I can still make calls. However mobile hotspot on the phone will not work as I don't have that. I'm curious if USB tethering to the Mudi and changing TTL values would work.

Thanks.

Mudi's firmware does not support setting TTL.

Currently if the cellphone is connected to Mudi, and tethering enables, does it work fine without TTL?

What are you talking about? I was able to set TTL right from the Cellular Network settings page.

Sorry, please let me correct it, the tethering interface does not support setting TTL currently, cellular modem supported to set the TTL.

If the cellphone is connected to Mudi through tethering, does the router tethering work fine without TTL?

I havent tried it out but my plan doesnt have hotspot so i dont see how it would work... i already tried mobile hotapot and fhat didnt work

Unrelared question: how do i set the cellular carrier to connect to (aka Verizon or T mobile).

If your cellular phone plan does not include (not provisioned for) mobile hotspot then it won't work when tethering to a router either. The word "hotspot" is just a fancy name for wireless tethering from your phone. You need a phone plan that includes "hotspot" if you want to tether your phone to a router.

I have an android and T-Mobile without "hotspot" plan and I got around that by creating a new APN in Android settings and adding "dun" in the APN type field.

I'm on Cricket..
