Unable login captive portal marriott bonvoy

Hello,

I'm having troubles to get it working with a captive portal. I've followed other post and the official documentation however I get stuck in obtaining IP.

I've disabled the DNS Rebind, connect to the marriott bonvoy guest wifi AP but then I lost WiFi. When trying with the cable directly just get stuck on obtaining... like if doesn't get DHCP.

I tried the option of clone the mac of a previous login device and also tried to browse to any website but looks like DNS is ko...

Hi,

Please let me know the GL router model and the firmware version.

If the forced portal needs to be opened, IP must be obtained. Probably it is not a DNS issue.
Have to check why the AP has not assigned IP, please let me know whether if the phone can login to the portal? If the phone works, please post the syslog of the router here during it connecting the AP.

Marriott bonvoy use different wifi AP devices and AC controller. During my stay in Marriott the router works fine.

But I think you are using MT3000 and met the bug that cannot get IP. So if you can change to open source wifi driver firmware (op24) it should just work.

I've a MT3000 with FW Version4.5.16
Using a phone or my same laptop I'm able to reach the captive portal - I tried the clone MAC approach after login with my laptop. Regarding the Router yes, he get on "Obtaining" but no luck

Attached the log
syslog.txt.zip (9.7 KB)

Currently I've I've a MT3000 with FW Version4.5.16 I just noticed there is a recent one, this is the one you mentioned?

This one firmware.

To perform this update I just need to use the local upgrade package option right?

Yes, download the .bin file, upload it and upgrade in the GL GUI

BTW: let me know the which exact hotel. Thanks!

With the new firmware looks better, as I get the IP however I don't get the Login portal - Tried using the clone mac from a device already logged but I can't browse to internet however I do get IP now from the DHCP. The message displayed is "The interface is connected, but the Internet can't be accessed."

Does the UI show that you have a captive portal there?

This is what I see... not sure which option to you mean, I tried with the flag for the login mode but same result:

It should have something in the hint like there is a captive portal and you need to click this (a link) to login.

But can you just access http://neverssl.com in your browser?
Make sure vpn, encrypted dns is not on when you doing this.

Ok I did all from the scratch. Connect by ethernet (because using the wifi somehow I was losing the connection when connecting) > connect to the Hotel WiFi AP and then I got the banner you were referring, he automatically redirect me to the login portal and working like a charm.

One question regarding this update, I understood is kind of temporary until this is moved to the stable releases? so I should stay until new stable release is drop ?

in paralel many thanks for your quick support to sort out this issue

Pls stay with this version.

I guess that the problem was brought up during upgrading firmware.

Try to connect with another device (e.g. mobile) or disconnect with your laptop and connect again. This helps me most of the time.
