I have a Marble GL-B3000, and set up the 5G and 2.4G networks, with default settings except for SSID. The 5G network shows up on all devices, and I can connect to it. The 2.4G network on the other hand only shows in available networks intermittently, I can make the SSID show up on my phone by turning wifi off then on again, but when I try to connect to it, it just says "Scanning..." and then doesn't connect, with the error "Saved / Connection Failure".
This happens on my laptop also, however the SSID doesn't even show up if I turn wifi off and on again. SSID visibility for the 2.4G network is enabled, and I am positioned in the same room as the router, so it's not a range issue.
Yes. It is indeed very necessary to conduct a WiFi analysis test on the current environment.
There are many influencing factors in the 2.4G frequency band. After analysis, you can try to change the WiFi channel, adjust the bandwidth, and so on.
I have just had a look at that, and the 2.4G SSID doesn't show up there either. I tried changing the channel manually to a less populated one, but that didn't fix it. The 5G SSID does show up though.
Well, the 2.4GHz has much better penetration thru walls than 5GHz so I doubt it's a range issue all things being equal. Have you tried adjusting the bands on the 2.4? IIRC some devices don't handle higher MHz well, if at all, & can only use 20/40/whatever. It's a shot in the dark but it's the best I got assuming there's no flaky hardware anywhere in the mix.
Also, I just tried the 2.4G network on my Beryl AX, and was able to connect to it just fine, so I don't think it's an issue with channels or bandwidth, as it is using the exact same settings as my main router. In this case, do you think my best option is to reset the router and start again?
Yeah, I would. It really shouldn't this difficult if the airspace isn't congested. If the client device is working on the 2.4GHz on your Beryl AX I'd start leaning to the side that the Marble's radio may be bad. I presume it's already running the latest stable firmware of course.
A firmware upgrade can reset the device in full too should that help. Just don't choose to 'save settings.'
