My question is how can you land in this thread and still be oblivious to the danger updating them can cause?

Bricking the GUI.

It's not recommended. You can do it, ofc, on your own responsibility.
For all other people: Just don't do it.

If there is an update available, that's not for nothing. CVE or/and bugs fixed, etc...
So why bother to push such updates if it not to let them be installed?

For me, it's important to keep up-to-date all things I can, and nowadays, that's not rare the a CVE is used and corrected after this use...

So, you get the reason I update all I can.
But, the eco-ubus thing rings a bell, and I go here to check if this package still buggy.

Ok.
That's a good reason.
But, I still have the question about pushing update which will brick the device...

I like very much GL interface, but the more I use it, the more limited I feel. (not sure this is how I should be told )

PS: What's the meaning of "ofc"?

Go with plain OpenWrt then.

Of course.

I'm more and more tempted, yes
But LUCI... isn't as convivial as GL interface
I'll open a new thread to have information about changing to OpenWRT, or maybe 4.6.6-op24...

Oh! Thanks :innocent:
