Update 3.203 broke GL-MT1300's Wireguard server

I few days ago I could still connect to the Wireguard server of my two GL-MT1300 devices in two different locations. Today, after an automatic firmware update, the log shows the following messages:

2021-08-21 21:34:48.738 [NET] peer(WjLC…5M0k) - Sending handshake initiation
2021-08-21 21:34:53.885 [NET] peer(WjLC…5M0k) - Handshake did not complete after 5 seconds, retrying (try 2)

To recapitulate my attempts to make the routers work, in the past few weeks I had to:

  1. Remove the Micro-SDCard, which was suspected to make the router unstable
  2. Remove any cable connections, which somehow also made the router disconnect
  3. Switch off the WLAN (this should have been fixed with the latest update)

I bit the bullet and - while waiting for an update, I ended up using the GL-MT1300 only as a Wireguard server. Also that stopped working and left me a couple of thousands miles from an expensive plastic box that was sold to me as a router. I never write reviews on Amazon, but this time I’ll write a very detailed and negative one, because what you’re doing has many of the characteristics of a scam.

It is better just to upgrade while you have the box at hand.

no, it’s better to buy products that are stable and reliable, instead of flimsy prototypes like those GL.iNet sells
