I few days ago I could still connect to the Wireguard server of my two GL-MT1300 devices in two different locations. Today, after an automatic firmware update, the log shows the following messages:
2021-08-21 21:34:48.738 [NET] peer(WjLC…5M0k) - Sending handshake initiation
2021-08-21 21:34:53.885 [NET] peer(WjLC…5M0k) - Handshake did not complete after 5 seconds, retrying (try 2)
To recapitulate my attempts to make the routers work, in the past few weeks I had to:
- Remove the Micro-SDCard, which was suspected to make the router unstable
- Remove any cable connections, which somehow also made the router disconnect
- Switch off the WLAN (this should have been fixed with the latest update)
I bit the bullet and - while waiting for an update, I ended up using the GL-MT1300 only as a Wireguard server. Also that stopped working and left me a couple of thousands miles from an expensive plastic box that was sold to me as a router. I never write reviews on Amazon, but this time I’ll write a very detailed and negative one, because what you’re doing has many of the characteristics of a scam.
