I would like to raise an issue here that is very important to me, and I hope it will provide feedback for Support / Engineering.
Unfortunately, GL.iNet is doing a very poor job of providing firmware updates for the Slate 7 Pro!
It is not only the most expensive travel router, but also the manufacturer’s flagship product. All the more frustrating, then, is the fact that the device is still stuck on firmware 4.8.6, while less expensive models are already running firmware version 4.10.x. Features such as Mesh, VLAN, Security Scan, etc. are also only being introduced on other, cheaper devices.
This is justified (on the forum and in Discord, among other places) by differences in chipsets and possibly FCC-related issues.
Nevertheless, a flagship model should have the highest priority and be the first to receive new firmware and features! This is very disappointing and is not something buyers can understand.
There is no newer confirmed release announcement yet. The latest staff update is still that Slate 7 Pro firmware 4.11 beta is expected around this month, with the stable release potentially following about a month later, depending on testing results: staff update.
