Update on 2023 feature requests implemented starting firmware v4.3 and ongoing development

I prefer removable antenna’s with SMA and DIN rail mount. Din rail mount should be easily removable in case it’s not needed.

This makes the use much moet flexible. I removed the original antenna’s and mounted SMA connectors. Now I can use outside mounted 12dB antenna on my boot to create a line of sight with wifi accesspoint to improve signal.

How much did it improve? Since the TX power is still the same, would be interesting to see, I expect like 4-6 dBm stronger

Hi Steve, didn’t check. After arrival I immediately removed the original antennas.

Will this be similar to SQM? SQM would be a great feature in the GL.iNet GUI, giving the user the option to enter the download and upload speeds (in this case 90% of the line speed) to avoid bufferbloat and high latency when doing heavy tasks. With the default cake settings of OpenWrt should work good. SQM is one of the first things I install

Bad form to quote myself, I know - but I've been using the snapshots lately, and I see big improvements.

I'm sure that it's all heading in the right direction. :+1:

Hi all, why is obfuscation rejected? Its a really needed feature for many countries that are blocking wg protocol

The QoS described here seems to contain at least three available modes at the moment: improved client-side speed limiting; manually assigning groups of devices and configuring ratios; and preference by application type.
The last one should be SQM unless we find a better alternative.

This is mainly about some shadowsocks-like plugins. A lot of people have asked for something like this, but we can't officially add it due to legal risks.
As for a WARP type of tool, I think we can consider it.

This sounds promising, I can’t wait to try it. And I hope the last one is SQM like you said, thanks for the response

Add a feature on the disk management to format the storage drivers in a native linux system.

I tried to use extFAT, but I had problem when moving files with more than 50Mb to Flint2.
EXT4 seems to have fixed the problem, but doesn't make sense a filesystem with journaling for a Network Storage Flash Drive.

By the way, my flash drive has a metal case and it's quite warm even when there is no access to it. It's an strange behaviour. I connected it to an windows machine and it stay at room temperature (<25°C), while on Flint2 it's >40°C

This is a known flaw. Windows automatically makes unused disks sleep, but the router does not.

To solve this warming issue, I do not put any USB device in router instead, I attached USB cabled nVME SSD into USB port,..

with this in mind, I have a feature request of File Manager. Some guy in youtube already did this in openWRT,.. I'm hoping you GL-inet guys can put better File Manager

Plase take this request into consideration:
