Using Comet and Comet Pro with Mac, but CMD key is not transmitted

Hello

I am using Comet and Comet Pro to remotely control Mac computers. My local computer is also a Mac.

When I use screen sharing apps like RustDesk or TeamViewer, when I press CMD + Spacebar (or any other CMD + key), the full command gets sent to the remote computer. In the example of pressing CMD + Spacebar on the local computer, it would transmit to the remote and Spotlight launches.

When using Comet or Comet Pro, this does not happen. When I press the same CMD + Spacebar command, it opens up Spotlight on the local computer, not the remote computer as expected. The closest ‘solution’ I’ve found is to enable the “Swap Command and Ctrl for MacOS“ option, but this means, I have to remember that CTRL is now CMD on the remote computer, and unfortunately, slows me down, because my muscle memory knows the shortcuts as CMD + key, not CTRL + key.

Is there a better way to transfer the CMD ley over for a smooth/seamless experience? I do not want to use the Shortcuts either, that’s even slower and more troublesome.

Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the feedback!

Sorry for the inconvenience. Unlike software such as TeamViewer that runs directly on macOS, hardware-based KVMs like Comet and Comet Pro are affected by macOS restrictions on hotkeys, which can prevent them from working as expected.

Our R&D team is working on a solution and hopes to resolve this issue in a future update.

Thank you for your understanding!

Thanks! Is there any best practices I can try in the meantime?

It's still recommended to enable "Swap Command and Ctrl for MacOS".
