Using Flint 2 with StarLink

"Crash" do you mean the wifi disconnect?

What is the 2.4G wifi config?

I have also tried other settings and the problem seems to be related to the USB HDD.

Badly shielded cables and USB HDDs can cause crashes.

I would recommend not to use the USB port for something else than just a stick.

Bought another extremely expensive and perfectly shielded one.

Also chosen so that it is not near the router.

Great idea with the USB stick, but it can't be that I can't use the router the way I want

Does force the USB to work at USB2.0 work for you?

The USB data transfer is already slow at 65 MB. How slow should it be?

At least will not interfere with 2.4G WiFi.

If you have to use USB3.0 pls use 5G WiFi.

Very few IOT devices have Wifi 5 and these devices very often lose the connection.

Is it the driver?
Is the device defective?
Rock construction?

Why does the router have so many problems that you have to forego functions so that it runs relatively smoothly?

Please explain it to me. I've never had so many complications with any router.

hmm, it looks like you are experiencing some of the symptoms i was experiencing as well.

Do you have like really bad signal? Like you have to be near it to work?

The usb port cannot be used at all, it affects the range quite alot, and not only that but it also causes other issues regarding the wpa handshaking, you can get errors that some devices tried to handshake before authentication which is kinda impossible

One thing i did not experience was crashing, the crashing might be something else, and i think maybe only affects to op24 firmware and multicast/certain packet sizes or multi psk type of setups (for the last one i doubt you use this).

i dont think a shielded cable will work with this as i suspect the port being the issue.

But it is worth a shot to try the mediatek firmware rather than op24 (i could not check logs due to mobile phone) so its not clear which one you use, but the usb issue will remain and you might want to re-setup wifi, you can try it on one problematic device and see if it improves before doing it to others

Mediathek Firmware ???

So with 4.6.2 it was even worse than with 24.

I have tried numerous cables. Other USB HDDs are also extremely expensive.

I also suspect that the shielding is on the USB port or internally in the device

Jup that is also my suspicion, a shielded cable is fine but the port needs shielding to otherwise it leaks interference.

My signal problems magically disappeared when i had nothing connected to it.

Since the USB port is just some gimmick, imho, I would simply omit it to connect devices there.

Also alot of routers seem to have this unshielded aswell , some work fine but some chips really dont like it.

It is physics.

Okay, it's weird that something like this isn't tested during production. I didn't have this problem with the Asus AX86U, even with 2 USB drives at the same time. Well it sounds like I bought a not really perfect device.

But back to the main question and thread title. What are the settings like for Flint 2 and Starlink?

The settings are addressed in the online docs, which was posted in this thread.

From what you described you have been able to set up but not stable? Did you use a splitter? From our experience the splitter is generally the not compatible problem.

Which documents should these be???
I have the original Dishy antenna 2, the gen 2 router in bypass mode with an Ethernet adapter and the Flint 2 router.

What exactly is your current issue?

How should you enter it so that it looks like the link from Glinet??
I can't enter it anywhere under 24.

The destination address says 0.0.0.0/0 ???? what's that supposed to mean ?

What comes after the "/"?

Where is IP4 Gateway??

After having Starlink paused for almost a year, I just reinitialized it and followed the instructions at the above link, which worked without a hitch. I should note that after adding that routing, the web page doesn't show anything except name, "Starlink".

Are you having a problem with the steps required to set up the route or something else?
