@alzaho one thing to add is that if you have a United Mileage Plus number, login to your Mileage Plus account first. That will allow you to switch devices later if you choose to do so. If you don't, you can still log in normally, but it won't allow you to switch devices and you will have to log in again with a different logon, therefore paying twice.. I have tried both ways, and neither one would allow me to log in to a Max's Wi-Fi with a repeater, but it works great without the repeater.
I do have a United Mileage Plus number. Thanks for letting me know.
Generally I can test the portal before paying.
No Way! I traveled on a United 737 Max this week and the Repeater actually worked as advertised. I did not do anything different. I'll be very interested in what @alzhao finds out. I've had many Max flights with the Beryl, and this is the FIRST time it actually worked. I even disconnected, reconnected, and rebooted and it all came back! To be more specific, this was a Max 8. Still no luck with the Max 9s. ![]()
I think youāre onto something. My MT3000 connected without any issues to Deltaās WiFi, on the 737-900ER. Must be an issue with the newer generation 737s.
Interesting. Maybe the WiFi provider fixed some bugs.
I agree. The New Gens are a different breed all together. Hopefully some other testers will be able to confirm this for us. We definitely need a larger database to verify.
How did your testing go. I did notice that the flights don't like VPN's when first logging on with the repeater. After login, it doesn't seem to mind the VPN.
Just passing through, and I wanted to say hello. What type of movies do you like? When you travel, what do you like to do?
I just flied via United and didn't have a chance for 737-max.
The united wifi page is different from a portal so for repeater, you may need to turn off vpn so that you can connected to unitedwifi.com.
I spent most the time sleeping during flight and watched two movies. It were a 14 hours and a 5 hours flight.
Just came across this thread. i am flying united next week from IAH to FLL, i will test my MT3000. Shows to be on a 737-800.
I had this issue with other devices on United and it did come down to DNS, if I had the device configured to point to my preferred DNS server it basically got caught in a loop with the landing page. Changing DNS to automatic has solved it for me.
This is why they tell you to turn off private relay because that is pointing to Appleās DNS rather than what is local.
Curious if others can test, or if automatic isnāt set on your router try explicitly pointing your DNS to the access point and see if that solves it. Once you get through the login loop everything can go back to normal.
