using two ax1800's

greetings all i have recently purchased two ax1800's in hopes of putting the expressvpn firmware on them so that i have a cheaper aircove router (i have not succeeded at this venture but thats for another time).
so far heres what i have
-starlink setup with the router disabled.
-ax1800 with starlink cable plugged into the wan port
-a few other ethernet things on the other ports. one of which is an ethernet cable that goes to my garage. another is a eufy homebase for my camera setup

the ethernet cable going to the garage WAS plugged into a google nest setup so i know it is good and works. when i try to use the garage ax1800 both routers stop working, almost as if i have changed them both to wifi repeater or access point (i have tried it both ways with no success)

what am i doing wrong? do these routers work like i want or should i return the garage ax1800 and get one of those travel axt1800's?

  1. If the AX1800 is connected to primary WiFi as a repeater or is in AP mode and wired to primary router, will the AX1800 have no network? Let's choose one of two to check, for example, in the repeater connection, is it not possible to connect to primary WiFi, or is it already connected to primary WiFi, but no internet connection?

  2. What is the current firmware version of AX1800? Did you try the v4.6.8 firmware?

  3. If AX1800 uses AP mode, Starlink router needs to enable router mode. If Starlink disabled router mode, AX1800 must be wired connects and as router mode.
