Verizon with GL-x3000

I've done a search on this forum on Verizon with the Spitz GL-x3000 and saw mixed answers as to whether it is or is not compatible. I need to get a Verizon sim card (I already have a working ATT card in the x3000). I was wanting to get one of the prepaid plans similar to pay as you go as after a long RV trip, I no longer need the service. Is there anything special I need to do or ask for at the Verizon store? Just get a card, put it in and it will work?

I use a cheap add on tablet plan from Verizon on mine with the IMEI of an iPad 10. Works well with the updated modem firmware.

I don't have a verizon plan, my phone carrier is ATT. I have an ATT pay as you go for my router sim and it works just fine. I would have to buy a standalone prepaid plan for verizon. What does changing the IMEI have to do with getting the Verizon sim to work on the router? I am not very tech savy so I really don't understand what the issues are. When I log into the router it shows an IMEI. Does that change? Will it affect my ATT sim if its changed?

I had to change the IMEI to be a tablet to use the cheap $15 tablet plan.
You maybe good to go with a prepaid SIM.
Some folks change the IMEI to a phone SIM to use a cheap phone plan.
The IMEI of the router will identify it as a router to the carrier and plans for routers are usually more expensive.

I have a GL-X3000 and use Visible which uses Verizon's cellular network. Visible is prepaid so you can cancel at any time. The data is unlimited (but deprioritized) and the hotspot is limited to 5 Mbps (there are ways around that if you look hard enough). As with any sim you plan to use with the X3000 I'd recommend activating the sim and confirming it works in a cell phone before placing in the router.

I ended up updating the modem firmware on the router using instructions from gl-inet on Quectel module upgrade. Then I went to the Verizon store. They told me the GL-3000 is not on their IMEI certified list. He recommended to activate on another device and then move it to the Spitz. I also own a Verizon jetpack. I bought a prepaid sim they loaded into the jetpack and activated it. When I got home I transferred the sim to the GL-3000, changed the APN to vzwinternet. So far it is connected with 5g to Verizon.
